“An adventure in art”

For a limited time this December, you are cordially invited to visit this curated selection from the gallery of priceless artistic masterworks normally on display at Hearst Castle in San Simeon, CA.

Visiting the Collection

The Hearst Collection will premiere for private tours on December 1st and 2nd, 2012, as part of the Come Out & Play 2012 Festival and Exhibition. It will remain open for viewings until December 19th, 2012.

The gallery is located at the SOMArts Cultural Center at 934 Brannan Street, San Francisco. It is open Tuesday through Friday, 12–7pm, and Saturday 12–5pm.

About the Collection

William Randolph Hearst, publisher and U.S. Senator, laid the foundation for one of the greatest newspaper dynasties in American History. At one time, one in four Americans read a Hearst newspsper. After his death, The Hearst Foundation has been a cornerstone of American philanthropy. For the edification of all peoples, the Foundation occasionally permits exclusive viewings of its most prized masterpieces for limited times only. We are honored to be allowed to share in the glory of these icons of humankinds' highest cultural achievements.

About the Artists

A special focus for this collection is the work of Kindah Khalidy, an energetic young Bay Area artist of extraordinary talent. The Hearst family is fostering Kinda's artistic development with a series of exclusive gallery presences across the world.

Other featured artists include Marie Cirillo, Zannah Noe, Ali Saif and Rene Yanez.

Hearst Security

For obvious reasons, security will be tight during all viewings. An automated high-frequency laser security system is in place to protect these priceless works of art. Viewers will be allowed into the collection one at a time. Attempted art theft will be swiftly prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Special Thanks

Without these noble and tireless servants of the arts, this glorious collection would not be possible. The Hearst family owes them its utmost gratitude.
